BIO:

Luke Zammit is a filmmaker from Malta. He recently earned his Master of Fine Arts degree
in Film Production from Full Sail University. Luke is passionate about the film industry
because it allows him to be creative and tell engaging stories. He is able to do this not only
by writing and directing his own short films but also by playing different roles, such as Visual
Effects Supervisor.
While at Full Sail Luke wrote and worked on visual effects for the short film ‘The Exam’
which was a finalist in the Malta International Short Film Festival 2016. He also wrote,
directed and edited the one-minute experimental short film ‘Life Crisis’ which won the
Miami Independent Film Festival and was selected for a total of 10 festivals including the
Los Angeles CineFest and the Orlando Film Festival.
He also wrote, directed and edited a short drama titled ‘Hacked’ which thus far has been
selected for four film festivals, including the Roma DOC Film Festival. His biggest
achievement this year was writing and directing ‘Magic Mouse’ his thesis film for. He led a
cast and crew of over 60 with an estimated production budget of $27,000, of which nearly
$7000 was raised through a crowdfunding campaign. The short film was
nominated for a student Emmy in the best comedy category and has won several awards
including a Bronze Telly Award, Winner of the Best ‘Long Form’ and ‘Graphics’ at the
Suncoast Student Production Awards, Winner at the Indiefest Film Awards as well as
selection in the Central Florida and Maryland Film Festivals and Malta Short Film Festival.
Upon graduation, Luke was the recipient of several Full Sail University Course Director
Awards, including Script Production and Analysis, Directing Talent and Film Production
Thesis IV: Production, Film Assembly and Business of Film. He also achieved the Perfect
Attendance Award, Advanced Achievement Award and was named Valedictorian of his
graduating class.
Having a clear understanding of both the fundamentals of immersive storytelling and
technical workings of media, Luke is now working at Stargate Studios Malta as a Visual
Effects Artist.
